Message from Vice Chancellor

I feel extremely honoured to be the Vice Chancellor of Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut (formerly, Meerut University). The University was established in 1966 to cater to the needs of higher education, especially in western Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the premier educational institutions of India. It has vast and beautiful campus in pollution free environment, which sprawls over 219 acres of land having vast playgrounds, experimental fields, botanical garden, rose garden, statues of several great personalities, gymnasium, indoor stadium, well equipped library, hostels for boys and girls, spacious auditorium, guest house, community centre, medical centre, weather station, etc. On the University campus, there are well maintained 20 regular departments of teaching and research in various faculties, like Agriculture, Art, Education and Science. Besides, 35 PG programmes of professional courses of various faculties, including Law, Commerce and above said faculties are also run under self finance scheme. An institute, named as SCRIET, is also located on the University campus, which impart education for conferring B.Tech. degree in various branches of Engineering and Technology. Further, to confer UG and PG degrees in medical sciences, university has a constituent medical college—LLRM Medical College, Meerut.
Further, there are 560  colleges/institutes affiliated to the University, which are imparting education for conferring undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, and diplomas in various disciplines of Agriculture, Art, Commerce, Education, Law, Medicine, and Science faculties. These colleges/institutes are spread over seven contiguous districts of western Uttar Pradesh. So, there are multifaceted challenges before the University administration, like maintaining standards of teaching and research, smooth and fair conduct of examinations and timely declaration of results, maintenance of yearly as well as semester wise academic calendar of the University and other developmental work. It is a matter of great pleasure that the University is already actively revising its curricula according to the latest developments in the respective areas of study.

It will be my sincere endeavor to provide suitable environment—with transparency, impartiality and fairness—to all teaching and non-teaching personnel as well as the students of the University so that all will work in responsible and coordinated manner with their full potential to make it possible to fulfill all challenges. I am sure that, working as a team, we would be able to take the University to the pinnacle of its glory.
I hope that the years you will spend at SCRIET will not only be rewarding but most memorable
